Al Capone was born on January 17, 1899, the third kid of the family. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York part of a law-abiding Italian-American family. When he grew older he was recruited by Johnny Torrio who was part of a ruthless gang called the Five Points Gang. In a fight he had while in the gang and he was cut by a blade on his left cheek, which is how he got the name Scarface. In 1909 Torrio left for Chicago and ten years later he sent for Capone. By 1925 with the retirement of Torrio, Al Capone became the crime boss of Chicago and one by one he gunned down his enemies taking control of the entire city. One of the more famous of these was the St. Valentines Day Massacre.
